Matthias Kloth is the Head of the Council of Europe's Digital Governance and Sport Department, which is responsible for AI, cybercrime, and data protection. He has previously worked at the Council of Europe as Adviser in the Office of the Secretary General, as Executive Secretary of the Committee on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) and as a lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights. Before joining the Council of Europe, he worked as a legal officer at the UN Office of Legal Affairs and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology.
